Shreveport Regional Airport

SHREVEPORT, La. - The hustle and bustle at Shreveport Regional Airport is well underway. Passengers have been lining up, checking their bags, and heading to TSA for a security check.

Some are on a trip somewhere tropical. After the cold winter the ArkLaTex has had, you may be thinking about doing the same.

Public Relations Manager Mark Crawford says spring break is always a busy time at the airport.

"We always recommend that people book their tickets as early as possible to get the best prices available and to make sure there are seats available when they want to travel," Crawford said.

Last year, Shreveport Regional flew 715,000 passengers in 2024. That means most of their flights were at or near capacity.

In addition to getting some prime deals, this spring break season could be one for the record books. More people hit the skies in 2024 than at any other time.

With a new year underway, where are people headed?

"Some of the top destinations for spring break for Shreveport include Las Vegas, which we have year-round nonstop service. Destin, Fla., of course, the beaches. Nashville, we have a brand new flight that begins in May," Crawford said.

And if you're heading to the airport in the coming days or weeks, remember to always check the status of your flight before arriving to the airport. That way, you won't get stuck.
