A 43-year tradition of bringing art to the streets is back in full color as Amdur Productions unveils its 2026 festival season. Founded in 1983 by Amy Amdur, the award-winning company will present 26 juried art festivals this year, continuing its mission of connecting artists and communities across the Midwest.

Amdur’s story began with a childhood painting class and a $25 offer for her artwork - an early spark that grew into a nationally respected festival production company. Since then, Amdur Productions has curated more than 1,000 events, earning industry recognition while creating welcoming, artist-focused festivals that draw collectors, families and art lovers year after year.

The 2026 lineup will again showcase juried artists working across a wide range of mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry, wood, metal and leather. Each festival is designed as a full-day experience with live music, artisan food vendors, artist demonstrations, interactive activities for kids, booth chats, selfie stations and hands-on art experiences. Popular returning features include the “Start to Paint” classes and the always-busy Kids Art Zone, where young creatives can try spin art, sand sculpture, drawing, coloring, art-themed bingo and face painting.
Just as important as creativity is community impact. Amdur Productions will continue its partnership with Chicago Furniture Bank, now entering its sixth year. Festivalgoers are invited to donate gently used wall art at Chicagoland events, helping furnish homes for individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness.
Another meaningful initiative returns through the Purple Ribbon Project. Participating artists will display purple ribbons on select pieces, and when those works are sold, a portion of the proceeds benefits WINGS Program, Inc., which provides housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to help end domestic violence.
The season kicks off May 2–3 with the Deer Park Art Show in Deer Park, Illinois, launching a full calendar of free, public festivals that celebrate creativity, connection and community across the region. After 43 years, Amdur Productions shows no signs of slowing down, continuing to bring art, artists and philanthropy together in neighborhoods throughout the Midwest.
Shows produced by Amdur include many in the Chicago area, such as the Gold Coast Art Fair, the Port Clinton Art Festival, Millennium Art Festival, Printer’s Row Art Fest and Art at the Glen, and in Milwaukee, the Third Ward Art Festival. Many Amdur Productions’ events are rated in Sunshine Artist Magazine’s “Top 100 Best Fine Art & Design Shows” and Art Fair Calendar’s “Best Art Fairs.”
