Trial in the Delta: The Murder of Emmett Till
The DuSable Museum — Chicago
"Trial in the Delta" reenacts the court proceedings of the 1955 murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till in Mississippi. The murder and the trial brought national attention to the racial violence and injustice in the deep south and inspired a generation to join the Civil Rights Movement. The play, presented at The DuSable Black History Museum & Education Center, features key characters based on real-life individuals.
