The Grant Park Music Festival will return to the Jay Pritzker Pavilion this summer, with a series of performances from the Grant Park Orchestra lined up in July and August.
The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 2, with an Independence Day Salute featuring a selection of patriotic songs such as John Williams' "Summon the Heroes" and John Philip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."
Other upcoming shows include a July 7 program centered around the William Tell Overture and an Aug. 13-14 "Classic Broadway" program, featuring hits such as "Maria" from "West Side Story" and "Memory" from "Cats."
Performances will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Wednesday, Friday and Saturday through Aug. 21. While seating is free, reservations are required and can be made online or via phone. Guests seated in the Seating Bowl area are asked to sit in their assigned seats, and seating on the Great Lawn will be designated with squares designed for groups of two to six people. Masks are required at all times, though seated guests may lower them to eat and drink.
