Don't throw away your shot: If you missed out on the chance to see "Hamilton" during its last run, you'll have another opportunity to watch the show live, as the hit musical is set to return to Chicago after a three-year absence. The show will run at the James M. Nederlander Theatre starting September 13, 2023.

Created by Lin-Manuel Miranda, "Hamilton" ran in Chicago for over three years, attracting nearly three million theatergoers. The show closed in January 2020, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic halted live shows nationwide.

Featuring a different cast of actors from the first Chicago company, the show will play at the James M. Nederlander Theatre. The Nederlander boasts nearly 500 more seats than the show's previous home, the CIBC Theatre, allowing even more fans to see the acclaimed musical.

The musical follows the life of Alexander Hamilton, who served as George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War, and became a founding father and the first Treasury Secretary of the United States. It has won multiple Tony Awards, the 2015 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album, and the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for drama.

Details such as casting, performance schedule, and ticket sales for "Hamilton" will be announced later this year. Tickets will be available for purchase online at BroadwayInChicago.com.
