Navy Pier's Chicago Live! brings over 100 FREE performances to center stage

Chicago's performing arts scene will take center stage when Chicago Live! returns to Navy Pier for its sixth annual celebration on Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20. The free, two-day festival will once again transform the iconic lakefront destination into the Midwest's largest free performing arts festival, featuring more than 100 artists and performing organizations across five stages.

Presented by The Pritzker Foundation with generous support from Ferrara Candy Company, Chicago Live! showcases the incredible diversity of Chicago's creative community while making world-class entertainment accessible to everyone. Since launching in 2021 with 43 performing companies, the festival has more than doubled in size, reflecting both the city's vibrant arts scene and Navy Pier's commitment to supporting local talent.

"Navy Pier exists to bring people together through experiences that celebrate the very best of Chicago," said Marilynn Gardner, president and CEO of Navy Pier. "Chicago Live! transforms the Pier into a stage where artists, audiences and communities connect through the power of live performance. We're proud to provide a platform where both longtime favorites and emerging voices can be discovered, while making these experiences free and accessible to everyone."

This year's lineup blends returning audience favorites with exciting newcomers. Festivalgoers can look forward to performances by Anthony Rapp, Melody Angel, Kokandy Productions, Liquid Soul, Dancing Queen and Trinity Irish Dancers. Making their Chicago Live! debut are RuPaul's Drag Race stars Utica and Denali, along with Q Brothers, Nico Segal and Fat Theatre Project. Nearly one-third of the 2026 lineup is appearing at the festival for the first time.

The complete performance schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. Visitors can expect music, dance, theater and family-friendly entertainment spread throughout Navy Pier, offering something for every age and interest.

Located along Chicago's spectacular lakefront, Navy Pier welcomes nearly 9 million visitors annually and continues to fulfill its nonprofit mission by offering free arts, cultural and community programming throughout the year. Chicago Live! is one of the Pier's signature events, celebrating the city's remarkable artistic talent while inviting residents and visitors alike to experience the best of Chicago in one unforgettable weekend.
