Sundays on State returns to Chicago’s Loop for its fifth annual fall edition, closing State Street between Jackson and Randolph on Sunday, September 7 and Sunday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This free, public event transforms five blocks into a vibrant pedestrian playground, featuring nearly 400 local vendors and artists offering food, drinks, shopping, interactive block-party activations, live performances, art installations and fitness activities.
Highlighted talent includes Good Girls DJ on September 7, and both The O’My’s and the Joffrey Ballet Academy on October 5, accompanied by Windy City Ramblers, Zion Ali, Fin Talbot and Chachi Guerrero.

Launched in 2021 as a post-pandemic recovery initiative, Sundays on State has attracted over one million visitors. The shift to fall programming supports major summer festivals like Lollapalooza and the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, reinforcing the vision of the Chicago Loop Alliance to elevate Chicago’s cultural profile.
Community inclusion is key: more than 93% of street activations are produced by underrepresented business owners—74% women-owned, 31% minority-owned, and 11% LGBTQ+-owned ventures.
Attendees can RSVP online to enter a raffle for a $1,000 Loop staycation package. Discounted parking is available at Millennium Garages. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted, while alcohol and weapons are prohibited.
The festival is produced by the Chicago Loop Alliance in collaboration with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events, Chicago Loop Alliance Foundation, and Special Service Area #1‑2015.
(Sponsors for 2025 include Allstate, Macy’s, Target, Block 37, Catalog, Faegre Drinker, Flyover, Millennium Garages, and Walgreens.)
