The 6th annual River North Design District Gallery Walk, presented by Daniel Kinkade Fine Art, will return Friday, September 10, from 5-9 pm. Meet-and-greet Chicago's top interior designers, international artists, galleries and design showrooms as they create gorgeous vignettes to serve as backdrops for one of the biggest art parties of the year.
The walk includes 20 stops in Chicago's River North neighborhood. Each showroom will be open late and will showcase its designer's vignette, along with entertainment, music, food and libations.
A kick-off party will be held at Calia Stone Boutique, 154 W. Hubbard, beginning at 5 pm featuring headline artist Linc Thelen and art from students from CAPE (Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education). An after-party will be held at Project.Interiors, 210 W. Illinois, from 8-10 pm.
A portion of ticket sales will support Dig With Dignity, a nonprofit that elevates the lives of those transitioning from homelessness by filling their houses with everything that makes a comfortable, dignified home. DWD partners with Chicago-based social service agencies to identify those in need and utilizes a warehouse of donated and refurbished furniture and home goods to outfit homes. They work with a variety of individuals and families that may include domestic abuse victims, veterans, those who have experienced a sudden job loss or those dealing with extreme health situations.
The designers' vignettes will stay in place through October 11, with an open house the following day, Saturday, from 11am--4pm. (Tickets are $35 or $60 for both kickoff and after parties, www.rivernorthdesigndistrict.com )
