The Joffrey Ballet is no stranger to creating must-see performances, and its upcoming presentation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland promises to be no exception. In fact, demand for this magical production has been so overwhelming that it’s made Joffrey history: For the first time ever, a performance has been extended! Originally slated to close on June 15, the run will now continue from June 5 through June 22 at the Lyric Opera House.

Co-produced with the UK’s Royal Ballet, Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland premiered in 2011 to rave reviews on both sides of the Atlantic. It became a record-breaking success for the National Ballet of Canada, cementing its status as one of the most celebrated ballets of the modern era.

Now, Chicago audiences have the chance to tumble down the rabbit hole into a spectacular world of whimsy and wonder. Wheeldon’s inventive choreography transforms Carroll’s beloved story into a dynamic and contemporary dance experience.

Prepare to be mesmerized by Joby Talbot’s evocative score, a symphony of sweeping melodies and the rhythmic ticking of clocks. Tony Award®-winning designer Bob Crowley’s vibrant stagecraft, including imaginative puppetry, brings Wonderland’s magic to life with dazzling color and creativity.

From the high-strung Queen of Hearts to the hypnotic Caterpillar, every character and scene bursts with energy, humor, and fantasy. And let’s not forget the tap-dancing Mad Hatter—a showstopper at his delightfully bizarre tea party. Wheeldon’s vision seamlessly blends humor, eccentricity and breathtaking choreography into an unforgettable adventure.

With its enchanting mix of whimsy and wonder, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is poised to be the hottest ticket in town. Don’t wait to secure your seat for this extraordinary journey through the looking glass.
