Returning after its 2018 pop-up, makeup and skincare enterprise, Glossier is opening the doors and creating a permanent home in downtown Chicago. The store officially opened to the public on Friday, April 14, on the buzzing corner of Rush and Walton, right across from Versace and Lululemon.

New York Beauty Account Supervisor Dyana Davila said of the Chicago opening, "While Glossier was born on the internet, immersive in-person retail has always been one of our favorite ways to bring the brand to life. Since (nearly) day one, those offline experiences — where you can meet people, touch and feel product and really step into the Glossier world — is core to how we connect with our customers, help them look good, feel good and support their unique beauty journeys."

The store will boast arched shapes that reflect the Chicago Cultural Center’s Tiffany Dome, a nod to the store’s signature design style and the city’s roots. The color schemes inside the structure include cream and shades of blue, inspired by Chicago’s typically chilly climate.

The trendy boutique will include wavy walls accented with a high-gloss finish. For those interested in opting for a selfie, the Chicago store boasts a “You Look Good” mirror, tucked away in a corner by a wavy wall with shades of pink.

Chicagoans will have access to purchase a deep-green Bucket Hat dubbed with the name “Park.” This exclusive item pays homage to springtime strolls throughout the city and is embroidered on the back with their mantra “You Look Good.” For each Chicago Bucket Hat sold, Glossier will donate $5 to The Gray Matter Experience, an organization dedicated to empowering young Black entrepreneurs through training and capital.
