Get ready for a party like no other! Diego in West Town is celebrating its two-year milestone with A Taste of Diego, a non-stop seafood celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on July 19. Cue the mariscos, pour those margaritas and let the beats roll across this 14-hour journey into bold flavors and community spirit.
Helmed by Chef Stephen Sandoval, a San Diego native whose culinary pedigree stretches from pop-up sensation Sueños to Soho House residencies, Diego brings Baja-inspired seafood front and center at 459 N Ogden Ave. Fire-grilled ceviche, crispy tuna tostadas and seafood towers carry that Baja-Mediterranean flair, earning Diego accolades as one of West Town’s top Mexican restaurants.

On July 19, the vibe will be electric. Kick things off with brunch beats by Rene Avila’s Afro-Cuban band (11 a.m.–2 p.m.), then relax into Diana Mosquera’s Latin jazz (5–6:30 p.m.). As evening falls, DJ Wero spins “El Disco es Cultura” (6:45–9:45 p.m.) and DJ Doddi plunges into Latin house juke until 1 a.m.—all backed by Mijenta Tequila.

Meanwhile, your palate goes on a curated adventure. Start with the “El Barrio” tasting (12–2 p.m., Bacardi / Reserva Ocho), followed by “Jardín” at 2 (Almave). At 4, sip the hibiscus-powered Flor Morada courtesy of Ilegal Mezcal, then groove into a Dembow-style cocktail tasting (5) featuring Probitas White Rum and El Velo Tequila. Stay hydrated with a Topo Chico car: hydration station on the patio keeps things fresh. Right as the tunes ramp up, the “Shake Your Maracas” margarita station, powered by Dobel Tequila and 400 Conejos, pours frozen margaritas until they’re gone.
This celebration isn’t just about dishes—it’s a showcase of two years of Chef Sandoval’s Baja-Mediterranean vision coming alive through flavors, music, tequila, and communal joy. Don’t miss this chance to dive into a mariscos fiesta, sip innovative cocktails, and dance under neon lights—all in one unforgettable day/night at Diego.
Join the fiesta at 459 N Ogden Ave on July 19 and experience what happens when seafood meets soul meets tequila. It’s West Town’s best-loved seafood hotspot throwing its most vibrant party yet.
