Summer officially kicked-off for The Woman's Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital with the debut of a new fundraiser. "Summer Soirée" attracted over 300 guests to Chicago’s Saddle & Cycle Club. The event that will chart a new course to introduce a variety of summer-themed fundraisers hosted by The Woman’s Board.

This year’s inaugural party was themed “Anchors Away” and included cocktails and cuisine served under the stars. Board president Sarah Schrup addressed the crowd and shared the nonprofit’s mission to support women’s health in all the reproductive stages of their lives. Dancing followed to the acclaimed yacht rock band Anchor's Away.

The event raised over $230,000 in support of The Woman’s Board’s $4.6 million pledge to fund comprehensive reproductive care across a woman's lifetime. Co-chairs were Woman’s Board members Emily Krall, Emily Sturgess, Annie Hudson and Bridget Tully Vrabel.

The board, which recently celebrated its 125th anniversary, has been responsible for bringing everything from electricity to the hospital to raising millions of dollars to fund leading-edge research and support patient care initiatives at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
