The late Bob Barker was a leading voice in animal welfare. His daily reminder to spay and neuter your pets helped move public opinion in an era when few understood the reality of homeless pet euthanasia.

He was a large donor in starting and supporting the PAWS Chicago spay/neuter program in 1999, helping PAWS purchase all the equipment needed to open the clinic in 2000, Since that time, PAWS has performed more than 310,000 free and low-cost spay and neuter procedures.

“We thank Bob Barker for helping fund the creation of our free and low-cost spay/neuter clinic in 1999.  He changed our city for the better and his legacy will continue to benefit the pets of Chicago," said Paula Fasseas, PAWS founder.
