Chance the Rapper’s nonprofit, SocialWorks, aims to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement. Its latest mental health initiative, My State of Mind, unveils programming for the upcoming wellness event Launch Week.
Created in 2019, the MSOM initiative is a free website where Chicagoans can research, explore, and contact wellness programs throughout Chicago and Cook County. To date, MSOM has over 2.9k wellness programs ranging in the modalities of technology, movement, mindfulness, community, arts, and clinical practices.
My State of Mind’s Launch Week is composed of four-days of events, activities, and discussions from May 20 - 25, showcasing how wellness can be incorporated into your life and how the platform can be a tool for your healing journey. Please see full weeks details below.

Participants will meet at the Harold Washington Cultural Center at 12 and ride through Chicago’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood, riding past wellness shops! Once riders return to the Harold Washington Cultural Center, individuals will enjoy a yoga session facilitated by Swervin’ Through The Stress, food, and participate in a raffle to win a new bike! OpenMike is SocialWorks’ longest initiative, bringing high school students together to share, express, and network with like-minded individuals. OpenMike is a non-competitive space that randomly showcases selected students to present a 3-minute piece of their choice. After the student performances conclude, OpenMike brings professionals, celebrities, and arts advocates to perform, teach, and inspire, sharing their creative process and pieces of their choosing. A Winning Mindset: A Conversation About Athletes & Their Mental Health
