The Great American Lobster Fest returns to Navy Pier on the weekend of Aug. 16/17, transforming Chicago’s iconic lakefront into a vibrant celebration of fresh seafood, spirited music and skyline views. Families and food lovers alike will gather for this annual culinary highlight that coincides with the Chicago Air & Water Show, promising an unforgettable pairing of high-flying aerobatics and savory coastal flavors.
The Great American Lobster Fest experience includes 1 1/4 lb. lobster, boiled potatoes, corn on the cob and more.
The festival spans both days, with doors opening at 12:00 p.m. and closing at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. Aerial displays from the Air & Water Show are visible until approximately 3:00 p.m., while a dazzling fireworks show crowns Saturday night’s festivities.
Nestled within Navy Pier’s north and south beer garden areas, the event welcomes all, entry to the grounds is free and visitors may purchase a la carte offerings from a diverse selection of food and dessert vendors, alongside live music and artisan stalls.

Attendees enjoy a full 1¼-pound lobster served with corn on the cob, potatoes, dinner roll, fresh lemon and melted butter, plus a drink ticket redeemable for selections like margaritas, Goose Island beer, prosecco, sauvignon blancs, water or soda. Reserved communal seating, DJ entertainment and lake-view activations are also included.
Advance purchase of this experience is strongly recommended, not only does it secure your fresh lobster meal and seating, but it also locks in a discounted price before market rates kick in closer to the event.
