Rosemont’s Parkway Bank Park entertainment district will usher in autumn with the inaugural Rosetoberfest, a brand-new fall festival in Rosemont taking place Saturday, September 27. The day begins at 10 a.m. with the Rosetoberfest 5K Run/Walk, hosted by the Village of Rosemont and Salute, Inc., starting and finishing at Parkway Bank Park. Advance 5K registration begins at $32, with proceeds benefiting Salute, Inc., a nonprofit supporting military service members, veterans, and their families. Participants are welcome to run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines.
From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., the park’s great lawn will transform into a vibrant Oktoberfest celebration. Visitors can enjoy live music by Paloma (Paloma’s official site), German folk dancing by the Society of Danube Swabians Youth Group and the Chicago Donauschwaben Adult Dance Groups, plus interactive contests like stein-holding and arm-wrestling competitions. Admission is free for the afternoon festivities.
Throughout the day, Parkway Bank Park restaurants will serve German-inspired food alongside signature menu favorites, available from outdoor food and beverage tents. “Rosetoberfest is a wonderful new addition to Parkway Bank Park’s calendar of events,” said Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens. “We’re proud to kick off the day with a 5K that supports our nation’s heroes, and we invite everyone to come out, celebrate the season, and enjoy this exciting new tradition in Rosemont.”
Free parking is available in the Parkway Bank Park garage with validation from any venue. For full details and to register for the Rosetoberfest 5K, visit ParkwayBankPark.com.
