The 83rd Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on January 11, 2026, with comedian Nikki Glaser returning as host for the second year in a row. The ceremony honored outstanding achievements in film, television, and audio storytelling, and for the first time included a Best Podcast category.
Hamnet won Best Motion Picture – Drama, while One Battle After Another captured Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and dominated with multiple wins including Best Director and Best Screenplay for Paul Thomas Anderson. Wagner Moura was named Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for The Secret Agent, which also won Best Non-English Language Film, and Jessie Buckley received Best Actress – Drama for her role in Hamnet. Among other film winners, KPop Demon Hunters took home Best Animated Feature and the award for Best Original Song with “Golden,” and Stellan Skarsgård won Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

Television awards celebrated a range of storytelling across genres. Adolescence was a standout on the small screen, winning Best Limited Series and multiple acting awards. The Studio earned Best Comedy Series, and The Pitt won Best Drama Series, with notable acting wins across both formats. Ricky Gervais won Best Stand-Up Comedy Performance on Television for his special Mortality; he was absent from the ceremony and comedian Wanda Sykes accepted the award on his behalf, delivering pointed commentary while doing so which was unnecessary.
The new Best Podcast award was won by Good Hang With Amy Poehler, marking a milestone as the Globes broadened their scope to honor excellence in audio storytelling alongside traditional screen categories.

Host Nikki Glaser closed the show with a heartfelt and witty tribute to the late filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, who died in December 2025. Glaser donned a “Spinal Tap” baseball cap in reference to Reiner’s iconic 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap and quipped, “That’s our show. This one went to 11,” blending humor with homage in one of the night’s most talked-about moments.
And while most of the stars' outfits were standouts, the best fashion moment of the night, in my opinion, goes to Kyle Jenner. I know there's a lot of Kardashian haters out there, but on this night, Kylie made the Golden Globes her home.
Kylie, who skipped the traditional red carpet but shared her look on social media to support her partner, Timothée Chalamet, stunned in a metallic gold sequined Ashi Studio gown with sparkling beaded straps, enhanced by over 100 carats of custom Lorraine Schwartz diamond jewelry, a vintage Gucci clutch, and Christian Louboutin heels. (Click here to see her fabulous look!) Her sleek ponytail and radiant makeup complemented the glamorous ensemble as she sat beaming beside Chalamet during the ceremony. (By the way, her name tag on their table read "Kylie Jenner Chalamet." A pic snapped of the two showed her holding it up for him to see and him smiling back.)
The evening also featured memorable speeches, celebrity interactions and a mix of humor and heartfelt moments from winners and guests alike. I was glad to see the political comments were at a minimum with only Jean Smart making a veiled comment.
The 2026 Golden Globes reflected a blend of genre diversity, cultural resonance and standout fashion, setting an energetic tone for the awards season ahead.
