Batavia will be home to Illinois’ largest movie screen. The Super EMX screen, measuring 94 feet wide and five stories tall, will open in the former Randall 15 Theater space at 550 N. Randall Rd. The auditorium required an additional 13,175-square-feet to be added to the building and is equipped with a 4K laser projection system and 70 speakers.

Emagine Entertainment president, co-founder and chairman Paul Glantz and CEO Anthony LaVerde, accompanied tours earlier in the week. The theater’s dozen auditoriums will also feature over-sized leather seats which will be heated.

"We have to give guests a compelling reason to leave home and we think we've done that by building the Super EMX," said Emagine CEO Anthony LaVerde. "It's larger than an NBA basketball court."

The grand opening is scheduled for June 1st.
