NAIA debuts with a glamorous Riverwalk opening night.
If opening night was any indication, NAIA is poised to become Chicago’s newest see-and-be-seen dining destination.
The invite-only debut along the Chicago Riverwalk drew an eager crowd Thursday evening, with a line stretching around the block as guests waited for a first look at one of the city’s most anticipated restaurant openings. The excitement was palpable as attendees descended to the sprawling waterfront venue, where Mediterranean glamour met some of the most coveted riverfront real estate in Chicago.
One of the most coveted reservations in town, NAIA at 300 N. LaSalle.
The chicest seats in the house? Without question, the cozy riverfront booths positioned just inches from the water. From these coveted tables, guests watched boats glide by while taking in uninterrupted views of the Chicago skyline. As daylight faded into evening, flickering candlelight transformed the space into a glowing waterfront retreat, while docking boats and illuminated skyscrapers created a cinematic backdrop that felt more Mykonos than Midwest.
Bluefin tuna anyone? NAIA's opening night was as dramatic as it was beautiful.
NAIA occupies nearly an entire city block along the Chicago River at 300 N. LaSalle Street. The 12,000-square-foot indoor-outdoor destination features more than 150 feet of river frontage, dramatic architectural elements and multiple dining experiences designed to bring Mediterranean resort-style energy to downtown Chicago.

Developed by Chicago hospitality powerhouses Luke Stoioff and David Rekhson of DineAmic Hospitality, NAIA joins their roster of some of the city's most popular restaurants, including Siena Tavern, Bar Siena, Prime & Provisions, Lyra and Violi.
At the culinary helm is award-winning Greek chef Athinagoras Kostakos, winner of Top Chef Greece and a celebrated figure in international Mediterranean cuisine. Kostakos is known for acclaimed concepts including Scorpios in Mykonos and Bodrum, as well as NOEMA in Mykonos Town, and has partnered with DineAmic Hospitality on several successful restaurant ventures. His menu at NAIA draws inspiration from Greece, Southern France, Spain, Italy and the broader Levantine region, creating a dining experience that celebrates the diverse flavors of the Mediterranean.

The opening-night feast was as dramatic as the setting itself. Guests wandered among stunning food displays overflowing with lush floral arrangements and artfully presented culinary creations. One of the evening’s most talked-about offerings was an entire bluefin tuna - head, tail and all - presented as a striking centerpiece that had guests stopping for photos before sampling the delicacy. The elaborate presentation reflected the restaurant’s commitment to spectacle as much as flavor.
A richly deserved celebration for NAIA.
Beyond the impressive food stations, guests sampled seafood-driven dishes, Mediterranean specialties and inventive creations that showcased Chef Kostakos’ signature approach to communal dining. The restaurant’s offerings include raw seafood selections, grilled meats, mezze, house-made pastas, flatbreads and Mediterranean-inspired specialties designed for sharing.

Adding to its allure, NAIA also offers a true dock-and-dine experience, allowing visitors to arrive by boat and step directly into the restaurant from the river. The venue includes expansive indoor and outdoor dining areas, pergola-covered seating, private event spaces and design elements inspired by the great waterfront destinations of the Mediterranean.
By the end of the evening, as candlelight danced across the tables and the Chicago skyline sparkled across the water, it was clear that NAIA had achieved what few restaurants accomplish before officially opening: creating genuine buzz. With its breathtaking setting, internationally acclaimed chef and resort-like atmosphere, NAIA has already secured its place among the city’s most coveted new reservations.
