Chicago’s iconic Navy Pier is lighting up the competition once again in 2025, earning a nomination for the Best Place to Watch Fireworks in USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. This marks the fourth consecutive year the beloved lakefront destination has been recognized for its dazzling displays.

Voting is now open, and fans of the Pier’s pyrotechnics have until Monday, May 12, 2025, to cast their daily ballots. The winners will be announced on Wednesday, May 21, following the conclusion of the four-week voting window.

Each year, Navy Pier’s Summer Fireworks series transforms the Chicago skyline into a vibrant spectacle, drawing locals and tourists alike. The 2025 season will officially launch over Memorial Day weekend and continue through Labor Day weekend, with shows scheduled Wednesday at 9 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 p.m. Enhanced by choreographed soundtracks—ranging from pop hits to holiday-themed music—the fireworks promise a magical night on the lakefront.

A cornerstone of Chicago’s tourism scene, Navy Pier is the Midwest’s top nonprofit destination, welcoming approximately 8 million visitors annually. Stretching over six city blocks into Lake Michigan, the Pier has come a long way since its founding in 1916. Today, it features a dynamic mix of attractions, including public parks, restaurants, shops, cultural events, sightseeing cruises and year-round entertainment options.
