Navy Pier welcomes fall with seasonal events and a spooky twist

Navy Pier is leaning into the season with a calendar of Halloween experiences that showcase the venue as one of Chicago’s most versatile fall destinations. From family-friendly festivities to late-night cruises, the Pier has positioned itself as the go-to-spot for autumn entertainment.

The highlight for families is Slightly Spooky Saturday, set for October 25. This free, all-ages event fills the Pier with trick-or-treating, live performances, interactive workshops and even axe throwing. Costumes are encouraged and the atmosphere blends the excitement of Halloween with the energy of one of Chicago’s most iconic lakefront landmarks.

For those looking for a more haunting experience, the Seadog Haunted River Tour returns throughout October. Running on weekends and Halloween night, the tour combines ghost stories, eerie Chicago history and skyline views on a guided cruise. Tickets start around $34, with premium options closer to $50 depending on date and seating. Costumed guides lead guests through tales of the city’s haunted past, making it a seasonal favorite for both locals and tourists.

Margaritaville at Navy Pier will host its annual Halloween Bash on October 26, an all-day celebration that includes drink specials, giveaways and a costume contest in the evening.

City Cruises is also offering themed voyages, including Divas After Dark: Halloween Drag Show aboard the Spirit of Chicago and the Sherman & Tingle Haunted Cruise aboard the Odyssey.
