The Printer’s Row Art Fest returns to Chicago’s South Loop this weekend, transforming Dearborn Street, between Harrison and Polk, into a vibrant open-air gallery on Saturday and Sunday, August 9–10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Now in its seventh year, the fest brings together approximately 100 juried artists from across the country, offering an eclectic mix of original artwork, from contemporary paintings and photography to upcycled jewelry, street art, sculpture, and mixed media creations.
Organized by Amdur Productions, the festival celebrates the creative energy of one of Chicago’s most historic and architecturally rich neighborhoods. Surrounded by converted lofts, art studios, bookshops and cafés, Printer’s Row provides the perfect backdrop for this urban celebration of the arts. Guests can browse, shop, and meet artists in an inviting setting while enjoying live music, people-watching, and nearby dining.
Charitable aspects of the fest? Watch for a purple ribbon on some of the artwork. This means the artist is donating 10% of sales back to WINGS, Illinois' largest domestic violence service provider. Also, if you bring a piece of gently used art, it will be donated to the Chicago Furniture Bank for people in need after transitioning into homes.
Whether you’re an art collector, a curious browser, or just looking for a lively weekend activity, the Printer’s Row Art Fest offers a creative escape in the heart of the city. Admission is free and open to all.
