Chicago is getting another helping of Banana Ball, but this time the Savannah Bananas are trading baseball diamonds for the lakefront's biggest football stage.

The team will play the Party Animals at Soldier Field on July 10 and 11, 2027, marking the first time the Bananas have brought their traveling baseball production to the stadium. The Party Animals will serve as the home team for the two-game series.

The Chicago dates continue a three-year run in the city. The Bananas first played here at Rate Field in 2025 before heading to Wrigley Field in 2026. Their Soldier Field appearance takes the next step, moving the action to a venue better known for Bears football and major stadium concerts.

For anyone unfamiliar with Banana Ball, traditional baseball rules are only the starting point. The game has been redesigned to move quickly and keep spectators involved, with a two-hour time limit, no walks, opportunities for batters to steal first base and a rule that turns a foul ball caught by a fan into an out. The action is accompanied by music, dancing, comic routines and players who are just as comfortable entertaining the crowd as they are competing on the field.

What started with the Savannah Bananas has since developed into the six-team Banana Ball Championship League. Along with the Bananas and Party Animals, the league includes the Firefighters, Texas Tailgaters, Indianapolis Clownsg and Loco Beach Coconuts.
