Smashing Pumpkins frontman, Billy Corgan, is a wrestling fan and one of our town’s best loved philanthropists. He, along with his partner Chloe Mendel, will present two men’s and women’s wrestling matches on Saturday, April 8. The shows, produced by Phillip Koch, will take place at Studio One (1799 Green Bay Rd.) in Highland Park at 2 and 6 pm with pros that will include Tyrus and Madusa. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Highland Park Community Foundation’s July 4th Recovery Fund.
An April 6 book signing with the pro wrestlers will be held from 7-9 pm at Madame Zuzu’s, tea shop at 1876 1st St., Highland Park.
Corgan has been a wrestling fan since childhood and now owns the promotion company National Wrestling Alliance. (For tickets and more info, visit nationalwrestlingalliance.com)
