The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab hosted its annual Spark! fundraiser at Rockwell on the River in Avondale, drawing over 300 enthusiastic supporters. The event raised crucial funds for the nation's top-ranked provider of rehabilitation care.

Guests mingled during the reception, enjoying cocktails and stunning views of the Chicago River while the CoverGirls electrified the atmosphere with high-energy violin performances.

As dinner commenced, Board Chair Jude Reyes and CEO Pablo Celnik welcomed attendees. Reyes announced an impressive $4.3 million raised, dedicated to advancing science and enhancing patient recoveries at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Post-dinner, guests were captivated by an animated and engaging science lesson led by Dr. Rick Lieber, Chief Scientific Officer, and Dr. James Sliwa, Chief Medical Officer. The presentation focused on how clinicians and researchers help patients defy gravity and move their muscles.

Tony Award-winner Idina Menzel performed, her powerful vocals accompanying a video showcasing patients’ recovery journeys. Menzel also participated in a Q&A with COO Laura Ferrio and performed alongside some attendees, including young patients.
