Navy Pier announced an exciting lineup of events for spring 2024, filled with music, art, dance, cultural festivities, dazzling fireworks, and unique experiences. From the grand opening of Flyover Chicago, a new attraction showcasing the city's skyline like never before, to EXPO Chicago, a global showcase of contemporary art, and a tribute to Chicago's House music roots, the schedule reflects Navy Pier's mission to inspire, educate, and connect communities.
Marilynn Gardner, President and CEO of Navy Pier, emphasized the Pier's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. She highlighted their efforts to provide accessible programming that represents all communities and serves as a gateway to Chicago's cultural riches.
In addition, Navy Pier will introduce its first membership program, the Navy Pier Passport, offering perks like parking discounts and fast passes for the Centennial Wheel. Proceeds will support free public arts programming and the Pier's upkeep.
Key events this spring include:
- Flyover Chicago: A new year-round attraction offering a breathtaking aerial tour of Chicago.
- Women’s Makers Market & Artist Workshops: Showcasing the work of women artists and hosting workshops.
- Global Connections: Holi Celebration: A vibrant celebration of the Hindu festival of colors.
- EXPO CHICAGO: An international art exposition featuring works from top galleries.
- World Premiere of Judgment Day: A comedy starring Jason Alexander at Chicago Shakespeare Theater.
- Chicago: Home of House Exhibit: Honoring the 40th anniversary of House music.
- Mexico Fest: A celebration of Mexican culture featuring performances and booths.
- Lakefront Loop 5K: A timed run supporting Navy Pier's cultural programming.
- Summer Fireworks: Free fireworks displays every Wednesday and Saturday night throughout the summer.
