Take me home!

Twister, a recent rescue from PAWS Chicago, named after the Texas tornado.

A tornado has set in motion a loving rescue by angel volunteers from PAWS Chicago. This rescue included 33 dogs and puppies that arrived at the PAWS Chicago Medical Center on Monday, Feb. 6, from Texas. The pets were transferred to Chicago with the help of Rescued Pets Movement out of Houston, where five shelters were affected following a tornado that ripped through the area at the end of January.

The dogs average about 6 ½ months in age and include 19 males and 14 females. (27 are younger than 1-year.) They will be checked out thoroughly by the Medical Center before becoming available for adoption so watch the PAWS’ website for more details.

The dog pictured is named Twister, both for the tornado-shaped patch on her chest and, of course, in commemoration of the tornado that ripped the roof off his shelter in Pasadena, TX, which set this rescue in motion.
