The opening night performance included friends, family and VIP guests of the Adler Planetarium on Feb. 7. Inside the Grainger Sky Theater, Michelle B. Larson, president/CEO of the Adler Planetarium and Greg Cameron, CEO of the Joffrey Ballet, welcomed guests and kicked off the show with some thoughtful words about this special and unique partnership between two major cultural institutions in the city.
Cosmic Rhythms played followed by a panel discussion with the audience. The panel was moderated by Dylan Gutierrez, Executive Producer at Action Lines and lead dancer at Joffrey, and included: Xavier Núñez: Director, Choreographer at Action Lines and Joffrey Dancer; Eric Grant: Writer, Producer at Big Foot Media for Action Lines; and Mike Smail, Senior Director of Theaters and Visualization at Adler Planetarium.
At the conclusion of the event, a reception was held in the Adler's Solarium overlooking the city of Chicago. The show will run Feb. 14 through April 17. (https://www.adlerplanetarium.org/event/cosmic-rhythms/)
