Chicago has its very own tulip! The “Magnificent Mile Tulip debuted on April 17, at 625 N. Michigan Avenue, during a ceremony hosted by Magnificent Mile Association, the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chicago, Chalet and De Vroomen Garden Products.

These unique hybrid tulips, with bright yellow petals and tangerine orange tips, are blooming for the first time now in Chicago. 4,000 of these blooms can be seen in front of 625 N. Michigan alongside a colorful sculpture created by the ChiLab Studio, celebrating this new addition to the Mag Mile.

During the ceremony, Kimberly Bares, President/CEO of The Magnificent Mile Association; Bart Twaalfhoven, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chicago; Lawson Thalmann, VP Chief Technology Officer at Chalet and Jennifer Brennan, Horticulture Information Specialist at Chalet, welcomed guests and shared the tulip’s history.
