Venetian Night to transform Chicago River into cultural celebration

Chicago's Venetian Night returns on Saturday, July 26, transforming the Chicago Riverwalk into a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, music, and maritime artistry. This highly anticipated annual event, hosted by the Italian American Human Relations Foundation (IAHRF), brings the elegance of Venice to the heart of downtown Chicago, offering locals and tourists an unforgettable summer night by the water.

Festivities begin at 6:00 PM, with live performances from strolling musicians dressed in traditional Venetian attire. They’ll serenade guests with Italian opera classics and timeless ballads, creating a romantic and culturally rich atmosphere. Nearby cafés and restaurants along the Riverwalk enhance the evening with themed decorations, Italian-inspired food, and beverages, turning the waterfront into a festive piazza.

The highlight of the night arrives at 8:30 PM, when the illuminated boat parade takes over the river. A spectacular flotilla of boats — from private yachts to pontoons — will glide down the Chicago River, each adorned with glowing lights and uniquely creative themes. Participants compete for cash prizes up to $2,000, with awards given to the most innovative designs and standout entries.
