The Christkindlmarket is returning for its 29th season in 2025, bringing its cherished holiday tradition to three locations: Daley Plaza in Chicago, RiverEdge Park in Auroraand Gallagher Way in Wrigleyville. The Chicago and Aurora markets will open on Friday, Nov. 21, while Wrigleyville will welcome visitors beginning Sunday, Nov. 23. The markets will feature authentic vendors, live entertainment, and special events, all admission-free, creating a festive holiday atmosphere for guests of all ages.

This year brings several exciting new experiences. Daley Plaza will host a new cultural German event, set to be announced in the coming weeks, alongside the exclusive ‘Twas the Night Before Christkindlmarket Opening Night Event on Thursday, Nov. 20, offering a more intimate experience before the market opens to the public. And new this year, Krampus-themed events, new mug options, s'mores and more! Holiday receptions are already available for booking in Chicago’s heated Timber Haus, accommodating up to 120 guests on weekdays.

The Aurora market will be the largest ever organized by German American Events, featuring more than 60 vendors and new seasonal dishes such as s’mores and sautéed mushrooms. Guests may notice ongoing construction at RiverEdge Park, which will allow for an even bigger and improved event space in the future. The Wrigleyville market returns to Gallagher Way in the heart of Winterland, welcoming back favorite vendors including Austrian Lodge and Bob’s Belgian Hot Chocolate, and will remain open daily through Dec. 31, including special hours for New Year’s Eve.
Visitors can also look forward to a series of Instagram giveaways, including one-night hotel stays at Staypineapple in Chicago and Hotel Zachary in Wrigleyville, as well as tickets to Irving Berlin’s White Christmas at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, each paired with the annual souvenir mugs.
Beer and Glühwein sponsors for 2025 include Benediktiner, Köstritzer, and König Pilsener, with Sternthaler providing Chicago Glühwein and St. Christopher available in Aurora and Wrigleyville. With expanded offerings, exclusive events and new culinary delights, the 2025 Christkindlmarket promises to deliver a magical holiday experience for visitors across all three locations.
