Will Harris, President of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, was honored as the Corporate Partner of the Year at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia’s annual Sweet Home Chicago Gala, held at the Odyssey Country Club Feb. 22. The event, which drew a full-capacity crowd, highlighted the significant contributions of individuals and organizations dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence.

Harris accepted the award on behalf of Darvin Furniture & Mattress, recognizing the company's long-standing commitment to community engagement. “Darvin has always been focused on being an active member of the communities we serve throughout Chicagoland," Harris said. "It is humbling to be recognized for having played even a small part in supporting the Crisis Center of South Suburbia, and the life-saving work they do every day for families who have nowhere else to turn."

The recognition was largely attributed to Darvin’s 2024 initiative, Not One More Life Lost, a campaign designed to raise awareness about domestic violence and expand the reach of the Crisis Center. As a result of the initiative, the Crisis Center increased its outreach by 175% over the previous year, educated more than 21,000 students on teen dating violence and provided information on life-saving services to nearly 25,000 individuals. Additionally, the campaign facilitated the expansion of the Center’s hotline services, introducing text chat features to improve accessibility for survivors.

The Sweet Home Chicago Gala also honored the Cosich Family with the Spirit of Charity Award and Jennifer and Jeff Kanacki with the Dianne Masters Award. The evening served as a platform for recognizing key partnerships and reaffirming commitments to addressing domestic violence.

As the event concluded, Harris emphasized the importance of continued corporate engagement in social initiatives. Darvin Furniture & Mattress remains committed to supporting the Crisis Center for South Suburbia and similar initiatives that make a tangible difference in communities.
