Chicago Gourmet, the annual food and wine festival uniting hundreds of restaurants, chefs and beverage experts for a weekend filled with food and drink tastings, entertainment and more, begins Thursday, September 22, on the Harris Theater Rooftop, 205 E. Randolph.
The Chicago Gourmet recipe is simple. Combine great chefs, delicious food and drinks, a spectacular setting, and excited partygoers! Add a dash of Fall. Stir, and enjoy! This year’s ingredients? Check them out below:
Thursday, September 22: Start with Tacos & Tequila. This event wowed the crowd last year with tacos galore, premium tequilas, and lively music on the Harris Theater rooftop at Millennium Park. Hosted by Chef Rick Bayless and presented by US Foods, Tacos & Tequila on Thursday, Sept 22nd will start the weekend off right.
Friday, September 23: Next? Add the Hamburger Hop. A Chicago Gourmet superstar, the Hamburger Hop, hosted by Chef Stephanie Izard and presented by Buckhead Meat and Blue Moon, is a fab Friday filled with sizzling burgers from top chefs, cold beer, and wine & spirits on the Harris Theater rooftop. The Hamburger Hop, along with lunch event Somm Sessions featuring wine + music pairings at LÝRA and the Late Night Gourmet after-party at Tao Chicago, makes Friday, Sept 23rd a fan favorite day for a reason.
Saturday, September 24: The flavors continue to build on Saturday with the beloved Grand Cru. Presented by UnitedHealthcare and Lexus, the Grand Cru features the world’s finest wines and spirits from Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, and unforgettable cuisine from award-winning chefs all on the beautiful Harris Theater Rooftop. It’s the event so nice, we’re doing it twice. Choose from two sessions on Saturday, Sept 24th for a lovely and delicious way to spend the day.
NEW! Sunday, September 25: Last but not least, a German twist will be added this year. Chicago Gourmet’s new “Prost! In The Park”, hosted by Chef Sarah Grueneberg and presented by Performance Foodservice, is a sure-fire Sünday Fünday on Sept 25th on the Harris Theater rooftop. This gourmet Oktoberfest will delight guests with an afternoon of German classics, fun cocktails, steins of cold beer, and lots of oom-pah. What a great way to close out the weekend!
And there you have it! Chicago Gourmet, returning September 22! But remember to pace yourself. You won’t want to miss one bite. (ChicagoGourmet.org)
