Chicago Gourmet is coming in haute

Chicago Gourmet is putting on a delicious culinary fashion show this fall, and you’re invited to the front row! Chicago Gourmet, one of the culinary events of the year announced this year’s lineup of fashion-inspired events, a stylish world-class roster of chefs and the launch of ticket sales July 23.

From September 21-29 and an early preview on August 15, one of the nation’s top culinary festivals, Chicago Gourmet, struts onto the scene in haute style. With the Illinois Restaurant Association as the founding sponsor and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits as the presenting sponsor, this year's theme for the culinary extravaganza is "Fashion, Plated"—a celebration of the seamless fusion of food and fashion.

First down the runway, Tacos & Tequila. Awash in a palette of salsa reds, avocado greens, and cornflower blues, this vibrant kick-off event on Thursday, September 26, on the Harris Theater rooftop, showcases tacos from top local chefs, coordinated with premium agave spirits, specialty cocktails, traditional musical & dance performances and more.

Next up, the Hamburger Hop hype is real. Held Friday, September 27, on the Harris Theater rooftop, this collection of chef-styled burgers along with cold brews, wine & spirits, pumping DJ music and skyline views will be all the rage. Match it with the Late Night Gourmet after-party at TAO Chicago for a most fashion-forward Friday.

Pop, POP! With flashbulbs popping, the stylish schedule continues on Saturday, September 28, with the impeccable Grand Cru. Like fashion magazines’ “September Issues”, the Grand Cru, on the Harris Theater rooftop, delivers cuisine designed by world class chefs and the very finest in wines and spirits. Inspired by the simple beauty of a fashion sketch book, choose the afternoon “Party in Black” session or evening “White Party” and get ready to strike a pose.

The last look? A Sunday best. Rise & Shine Gourmet closes out the show on Sunday, September 29, on the Harris Theater rooftop. This newly reimagined brunch event promises a sunny afternoon filled with sweet and savory bites, delish cocktails, lively beats and top tier chefs who know how to make a dish look as good as it tastes.
