Construction is underway on Flyover Chicago, the thrilling new attraction coming to Navy Pier in 2024. The ride will take guests on a journey, allowing them to “Fly over” some of Chicago’s most iconic locations and scenery in an immersive simulator experience.

A team of carpenters, craftsmen, and engineers are hard at work designing the Flyover set, which is on track to open by spring of next year. The attraction will contain three parts, including an introductory projection show, a walk-through, and the main attraction, the flyover simulation.

The simulation portion of the ride features a 65-foot spherical projection screen, encompassing riders and creating the illusion of flying over Chicago. The ride will also include sensory features, with wind and mist capturing the feeling of flying through the air. “It's truly a multi-sensory experience”, says Flyover General Manager Derek Poitras.

Navy Pier, The Tribune Tower, and the LaSalle Street corridor are just a few of the locations riders will get to explore during the Flyover experience. The simulator footage will even include a movie set street race and other special performances.

“What’s really great about this attraction is that from the moment you walk in, it's constantly going”, says Poitras, “There’s never a moment where you’re waiting around for ten minutes, you’re always doing something, watching something, or experiencing something.”

Flyover Chicago aims to capture the rich and diverse scenery of Chicago, highlighting the vibrant neighborhoods and landmarks that make up the fabric of the city. With the project right on schedule, tickets will soon be available. Check out Flyover's official site to grab tickets as soon as they go on sale.
