Cold weather is slowly approaching, and what better way to enjoy the winter than ice skating. Check out these Chicago ice rinks opening up in the coming weeks.
Maggie Daley Park
One of Chicago’s most famous ice rinks is set to open on November 17. With a quarter-mile skating ribbon, visitors get the chance to enjoy the city’s beautiful skyline views alongside stretches of pine trees. The rink offers free sessions on Mondays, with skate rentals available throughout the week.
Winterland at Gallagher Way
Located inside Wrigley Field, skaters get the chance to carve the ice and skate around the home of the Chicago Cubs. Starting Tuesday, November 21, Gallagher Way’s Winterland event will open its doors outside of Wrigley’s Christkindlmarket.
McCormick Tribune Ice Rink
In the heart of Millenium Park, McCormick Tribune Ice Rink offers stunning views of the iconic Bean alongside the city’s most famous landmarks. The rink will open Friday, November 17, with free admission and reservations required.
Sky Rink at Pennisula Chicago
Nestled away on the 4th floor of one of the best hotels in the world, the Peninsula Chicago Sky Rink offers 2,100 sq ft of rink space. With a view of surrounding skyscrapers, the rink features a menu with a variety of hot beverages and snacks. Skate rentals are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. All proceeds from the rink will be donated to Chicago children’s charities.
Navy Pier’s Light Up The Lake
Bringing outdoor fun inside, Navy Pier’s Light Up The Lake experience transformed the Festival Hall into an ice skating rink. The experience is surrounded by Christmas lights and includes $13 tickets to join in on the fun. Tickets will also include one free ride on Navy Pier’s iconic Centennial Wheel.
