City Cruises Chicago launches fall and winter holiday cruises

Ahead of the autumnal equinox and a trend of cooler temperatures, City Cruises Chicago announced the launch of its fall and winter programming. This upcoming series of new cruises will encompass various themes, including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve experiences.

“Chicago’s charm lasts beyond the summertime,” says Grace Fuller, General Manager of City Cruises Chicago, in a press release by the organization. “The upcoming fall and winter months are just as exciting, and we are thrilled to officially announce the full schedule of offerings we will have available as the temperatures begin to drop. From spooky tales on our Seadog during the Halloween season, to front row seats to the NYE Fireworks Display at Navy Pier, we have a little something for everyone.

Seadog Haunted River Tour — Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October

Learn about Chicago’s haunted history and hear bone-chilling stories of unexplained supernatural events while aboard this 75-minute nighttime cruise. Patrons must bring their own beverages—no glass should be brought onboard—but pets and infants under age 3 ride for free. Tickets start at $50.

Halloween Drag Show Cruise — Friday, October 18 

For one night only, the Divas After Dark Halloween Drag Cruise will take place on Lake Michigan aboard the Spirit of Chicago. Three top local drag queens will perform with a surprise featured host from RuPaul’s Drag Race. A cash bar and buffet will be available. A portion of the proceeds will support the local charity Center on Halsted. Costumes are encouraged for this 2-hour cruise. Tickets start at $70. 

2024 Sherman & Tingle Halloween Cruise — Friday, October 25

Presented by local radio station The Drive 97.1 and hosts Steve Tingle and Brian Sherman, this 2-3 hour cruise will feature plenty of Halloween fun aboard the Odyssey Lake Michigan. A live DJ will perform and a costume contest will take place. Tickets start at $84.

Thanksgiving Day Cruises — Thursday, November 28

On Thanksgiving Day, guests can choose between a brunch or dinner cruise with food by Executive Chef Francesco Simone. Live entertainment will be provided along with photo opportunities on the deck. Tickets start at $69 for the buffet-style cruises and $100 for the plated meal option.

Christmas Eve & Christmas Day Cruises — Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25

On Christmas Eve and Day, guests can choose between brunch and dinner cruises for the ultimate holiday experience. A DJ will perform holiday tunes and guests will get to see skyline views of the city’s holiday lights. The various Christmas cruises will boast chef-prepared menus, offering both buffet and plated meal options. Tickets start at $105.  

New Year’s Eve Dinner Cruises — Tuesday, December 31 and Wednesday, January 1

On New Year’s Eve and Day, guests can choose between brunch and dinner cruises with the option of an all-inclusive package of chef-prepared meals and an open bar. Brunch cruises include bottomless mimosas while nighttime cruises are for those ages 21+ only and will allow guests to see fireworks at Navy Pier. Tickets start at $90 for brunch but go as high as $320 for a premier dinner cruise.
