With National Dog Day just around the corner, Chicago is gearing up to celebrate all of the city’s four-legged pups. Check out these five places to bring your furry friends on Monday, August 26.

Cody’s Public House

Located in West Lakeview, Cody’s Public House is a dog-friendly bar all year-round. Their National Dog Day Party, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., will offer free pup cups, dog treats from The Raw Butcher, and dog swag. Dog parents can participate in raffles to help benefit Second City Canine Rescue (SCCR), whose mission is to rescue homeless animals and find them a loving home.

Cody’s will also serve themed drinks, with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the SCCR. Their creative drink list includes $7 Titio’s Greyhounds, $6 Red Rocket shots, $6 Yellow Snow cocktails, and $5 Lagunitas IPA. There will also be a $5 Best Buds Brew, a non-alcoholic craft bacon porter brew made specifically for dogs.

After the walk, Hoyt’s American Tavern patio will offer sample bites, safe for humans and their four-legged companions. The celebration will also provide a signature yappy-hour-themed specialty cocktail. Attendees will get a 20% discount on post-party lunches or cocktail purchases.
