Annual Chinese New Year Dumpling Making Dinner

Join the Hing Kee Restaurant on several dates for the 20th Annual Chinese New Year Dumpling Making Dinner. This hands-on event allows guests to make their own dumplings while learning about Chinese New Year traditions. Afterward, guests can enjoy a variety of Chinese dishes, including Mongolian Beef and vegetarian options, all while watching a traditional Chinese lion dance. January dates have passed, but there will be additional celebrations on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2.

Lunar New Year Cinema: 'Successor' at Chicago Cultural Center

On Feb. 2, the Chicago Cultural Center will host a free screening of the comedy-drama film “Successor” (抓娃娃), directed by Yan Fei and Peng Damo. The story follows a high-powered couple who attempt to raise their son with tough love, preparing him to take over the family business. The film blends humor with insightful social commentary and is a perfect way to enjoy Lunar New Year through cinema. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Argyle Street Lights Up for Lunar New Year Parade

On Feb. 8, the Argyle Lunar New Year Parade will kick off at 1 p.m. at Argyle & Sheridan, continuing a 40-year tradition in Uptown. The parade will feature over 20 community groups, dancers, and performers celebrating the Year of the Snake. Lunar New Year at Fashion Outlets of Chicago

Through Feb. 9, Urbanbelly in Wicker Park offers a special five-course prix fixe menu for just $30 in celebration of Lunar New Year.
