Happy Thanksgiving? Chicago’s Canadian Thanksgiving celebration

As Americans kick off spooky season preparations and approach Columbus Day weekend, our Northern neighbors are sitting down and giving thanks on Monday, October 9.

Chicago’s Canadian community found a way to celebrate the yearly harvest and bring the tradition to the Midwest. On Sunday, October 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Canadians will gather at 420 E. Waterside Drive, above Chicago’s Lakeshore East Park, and bring thanks with the community through delicious food, fun and gratitude.

The in-person event is open to everyone and hopes to provide a warm Canadian spirit with traditional Thanksgiving dishes. The dinner will be a potluck style feast, kindly requesting participants bring food dishes, drinks and chairs along with them.  guests are asked to register and pay $10 to cover the cost of the turkey.

Grab your loved ones and celebrate the holiday of thanks with your Canadian friends and neighbors!
