The Chicago History Museum’s fan-favorite spooky scavenger hunt is back, just in time for Halloween. The Haunted Dolls and History’s Horrors exhibit will be open Saturday, September 30, through Sunday, November 5.
In the exhibit, you can solve Chicago history riddles, find dolls and collect and unscramble letters you find. The scavenger hunt will feature dolls from the museum’s collection, with the oldest doll in the hunt being from the 1950s. The never-before-seen dolls will be hiding in 13 different spots throughout the museum, including one on the first floor.
“We have a wide collection of dolls that have both been donated and that we purchased from every area you can think of, so what better way to teach about Chicago history than with something interactive and fun,” Veronica Casados, Chicago History Museum Public Communication Manager, told Chicago Star.
If the challenge is successfully completed, special prizes can be picked up at the Chicago History Museum ticket desk. The hunt is intended for adults and children, friendly for all ages. If the question of whether the dolls are actually haunted or not is peaking your curiosity, come see for yourself!
“I’m not gonna speak for the dolls. I’ll leave some mystery for that but no one should be too afraid,” Casados said. “It’s safe to come here but you never know what’s gonna happen.”
