Jewel-Osco will celebrate its 126th Anniversary with a nighttime beach party and charity volleyball at North Avenue Beach on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 6-10 p.m. The Electric Anniversary Party and Charity Volleyball Tournament will feature glow-in-the-dark games, DJs, food, and drinks.
According to the press release, volleyball registration is open to the public for Mixed/Coed 4’s and 6’s divisions. Winners in each division will be able to give a $4,000 donation to local charities aligned with the grocer’s mission to nourish communities.
“For more than 126 years, Jewel-Osco has had the privilege of being part of your family’s table,” Senior Marketing Director for Jewel-Osco Tina Browen said in the company’s announcement. “After last summer’s enormous success during our 125th Anniversary celebration, we are thrilled to bring this charitable beach volleyball tournament back with a charged-up new theme. The Electric Anniversary Party is our way of amping up our appreciation to the communities we serve every day.”
