The Summer Fair was initially titled "Taste of Chinatown" when it was founded to bolster the neighborhood's visibility throughout Chicago, the website history states. It continues to serve as an opportunity for local organizations to unite and celebrate cultural heritage through shared traditions and festivities.
As reported by the Daily Northwestern, community member Naomi Wu highlighted the fair’s communal spirit from past visits, emphasizing, “It’s really encouraging having the fair because there’s a lot of people coming from different places in Chinatown and the suburbs. They’re all vibing and having fun in Chinatown, which is really exciting.” This celebration not only reinforces neighborhood ties but also invites people from across Chicago and beyond to participate in this cultural extravaganza.
Scheduled for Saturday, July 26, through Sunday, July 27, the fair promises a memorable weekend of joy and community collaboration. Admission is free, ensuring everyone can partake in this delightful celebration of cultural unity.
