The City of Chicago solicited creative ideas and potential strategies to develop and operate a world-class casino in Chicago through a Request for Information (RFI) issued on August 27, according to a press release from the Mayor’s office.
The 17-page document describes a vision to “select an experienced company or joint venture to develop and operate (the casino)” and makes a call for “feedback, suggestions and comments.”

“Chicago can finally pursue a to bring a casino to our city,” she said. “This is the right time to begin having these discussions as we continue to lay the foundation to make a strong recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
She also referred to the 2019 State of Illinois Public Act that eventually helped legalize wagering as “favorable legislation that had eluded us for decades.”
