Although the Lookingglass Theatre’s Michigan Avenue stage has been temporarily closed to comply with the city’s stay-at-home order, the legendary Chicago-based company is streaming a variety of online content to help drama lovers quench their thirst for entertainment.
Titled, “Keeping Curious,” the programs showcase the theatre’s Ensemble Members, Artistic Associates and guests.

“Through the Looking Glass” is a Facebook video series showcasing “poetry, stories, and songs” created by Lookingglass Ensemble Members and Artistic Associates.
The “Infinite Room Podcast” is dedicated to “theater, storytelling and their places in the world.” The inaugural episode features a conversation between Lookingglass Ensemble Member J. Nicole Brooks, Chicago Anti-Eviction Campaign co-founder J.R. Fleming, and National Public Housing Museum Executive Director Lisa Yun Lee. During the 30-minute discussion, they focus on “the intersection of art and politics, and the way radical imagination can lead to real change.”
“Lookingglass Live” is a series of free 15-minute workshops that launched with an introduction to yoga by Lookingglass teaching artist Adeoye. Other topics include a “trip down memory lane” with Artistic Associate Matthew C. Yee performing a cover of of Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is A Place On Earth” (pictured above).

With an unshakable commitment to optimism, the Lookingglass Theatre Company also announced its 2021 season in a video that premiered on March 30.
