On Tuesday, May 9, over 700 ALDI employees came together to support communities in need by assembling 6,000 disaster relief packages at the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Geneva, IL. The efforts were in partnership with the food bank as well as Feeding America. Packages included ALDI-exclusive products.

The affordable grocery brand has over 2,200 stores across the country, and has made it the company’s mission to support shoppers affected by various natural disasters. ALDI first partnered with Northern Illinois Food Bank in 2012; since then, it has donated almost 22.4 million pounds of goods from its stores and distribution centers to help feed those in need.

The company’s philanthropic efforts don’t stop at packaging meals. In 2022, ALDI donated over $650,000 to disaster relief initiatives around the United States. In partnership with Feeding America, it has donated 30 million pounds of food each year towards the initiative of ending hunger from coast to coast.

ALDI has quickly become one of the fastest-growing grocery brands and has won several awards. For its low prices, it has been named to the No. 1 spot on dunnhumby’s Retailer Preference Index Report in the price category.
