Following a year-long hiatus due to COVID-19, Chicago Food Truck Festival will make a comeback at Daley Plaza starting July 30.
The festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Friday through Oct. 15, and the schedule for this year's event will be released before the end of the month. In past years, the Chicago Food Truck Festival has included food trucks such as Harold's Chicken, The Fat Shallot and Lawrence's Fish and Shrimp.
“As people return to work and businesses [reopen], Food Truck Fest is a great way to celebrate how far we have come in the fight against COVID-19 while supporting small businesses at the same time,” Rosa Escareno, a city Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection commissioner, said in a city news release. “Chicago is the culinary capital of the country, and we are thrilled to bring our amazing food trucks back to the Loop every Friday later this summer.”
