The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is just days away, and street closures will impact much of downtown. The marathon will be held on Sunday, October 8, and include dozens of street closures beginning at 7 a.m.

Street closures will impact a large portion of the city, stretching from the Loop to the northeast and west sides of Chicago. The marathon covers nearly 30 neighborhoods in its 26.2-mile course.

Both the start and finish lines of the Chicago Marathon are located in downtown Grant Park along Columbus Drive. Columbus Drive will be closed from the starting line to Grand Avenue, and from Roosevelt Road to the finish line.

Portions of State Street, Jackson Boulevard, and Wacker Drive will also be closed on Sunday. Most streets impacted by closures will reopen by 4:30 p.m. Impacted portions of Columbus Drive will remain closed until 6 p.m.

The north and southbound lanes of DuSable Lakeshore Drive will remain open, as well as the east and westbound lanes of both the Kennedy and Dan Ryan expressways.
