The 61st annual Dearborn Garden Walk returns August 8.

Join the North Dearborn Association on Sunday, August 8, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm and discover one of the country’s oldest garden walks. (This year will be the 61st Dearborn Garden Walk!) Enjoy self-guided tours throughout the Near North and Gold Coast neighborhoods. Included in the ticket price are the popular guided sidewalk architectural tours of historic Dearborn Parkway, gardening seminars and opportunities to talk with Master Gardeners about gardening questions.

Ticket-holders will experience an intimate garden experience with a variety of private rear gardens on display ranging from minimalist to classic small gardens and patio/terrace designs – each showcasing the most creative use of outdoor space in an urban setting

The NDA announces the return of the award-winning garden at 1400 N La Salle Blvd. This magnificent garden has been featured on Good Morning America and in Country Living Magazine.

Visitors can also participate in an hour-long, guided architectural tour of historic Dearborn Parkway that highlights the architectural facades in the neighborhood. The tour includes pre- and post-Chicago fire structures, sites used in movies, homes formerly occupied by famous celebrities and a former US president, along with neighborhood folklore.

Select gardens will feature seminars from Master Gardeners on topics such as container gardening, gardening sustainably with natives, along with flower arranging.  Master gardeners will also be available to answer gardening questions.

Organizers say planning this year's event "has been a herculean effort in this post-pandemic summer" so they are hoping you will help them "bloom" again.

Tickets are $30 in advance/$35 at the door. Tickets are on sale at www.dearborngardenwalk.com , or at www.dearborngardenwalk.eventbrite.com . Children under 16, accompanied by an adult, are free.
