DePaul University celebrates its 50th season by setting the women’s basketball attendance record in their charity exhibition game against the University of Iowa on Sunday, October 15. The game saw a record number of 55,646 attendees at Kinnick Stadium.

All net proceeds from the game were donated to Iowa’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital in the amount of $250,000. The exhibition game broke the previous record of 29,619 in 2002 at the national title game between Connecticut and Oklahoma at San Antonio’s Alamodome.

However, attendance wasn’t the only history made. Sunday was the first women’s basketball game ever played in a football stadium. Iowa won the game 94-72, with Iowa senior Caitlin Clark finishing with 34 points, 11 rebounds and ten assists in 33 minutes.
